Starting your first barista class is a big step toward turning your coffee love into a career. But what exactly happens in that first session? Let’s walk you through what to expect on Day 1.
Your instructor will begin by introducing the course outline. You’ll meet your fellow trainees and get an overview of:
The café station setup
Tools and safety guidelines
Your daily routine
Before touching a machine, you’ll dive into the world of coffee. Learn about:
Coffee plant species
Roasting profiles
Processing methods (washed, honey, natural)
This foundational knowledge gives depth to every shot you pull.
You’ll become familiar with:
Commercial espresso machines
Grinders, tampers, and milk jugs
Cleaning tools and safety procedures
Practice begins gently — you’ll test water flows, steam milk, and pull basic shots.
Even if your heart looks like a potato — don’t worry! Latte art comes with practice. You’ll be encouraged to experiment, make mistakes, and learn from each one.
Your trainer may simulate a café rush, teaching you to:
Handle multiple orders
Prioritize tasks
Communicate under pressure
From classroom to career — we train you for the world.
